Akshaya Clinched the title

A. Akshaya of Velaiyan Chettiar MHSS clinched the Rachel Paranjothy Memorial Trophy in the RAMCO 28th Rachel Paranjothy Women Chess Tournament being organized by Tamil Nadu State Chess Association at Ethiraj College here today.

A. Akshaya and J. Saranya tied for the first place, based on the Progressive tie-break system A.Akshaya declared as a Champion.J. Saranya of Velammal MHS School won the runner up with 6.5 points. G. Apurva of Kanchi scored 6 points and secured third place.

The Chief Guest Dr. Swarnalatha Joseph (Former Tamil Nadu State Women Champion and an Old student of the Ethiraj College gave away the prizes to the winners.
3 players namely, Charvi Nangia, Hinu Kauser and K. Lavanya of Ethiraj College got the special prizes.
